Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – Celebration Reel Debuts

A behind-the-scenes montage for Rogue One:  A Star Wars Story has debuted online during this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration.  Practical effects and live sets were heavy for this production.  Similar to the music from the official teaser, ‘Rogue One’ has a dark tone.

Still no official trailer at this time, but speculation may ensue about a Comic-Con trailer.  Darth Vader appears in the film, but not in the marketing so far.

Star Wars: Rebels is glimpse of the timeline after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith and before ‘A New Hope’.  ‘Rogue One’ brings that section to the big screen for the first time.  The synopsis is as follows:

“Resistance fighters (Felicity Jones, Diego Luna) embark on a daring mission to steal the Empire’s plans for the Death Star.”

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Jones, Luna, Forest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelsen.  Edwards has said that this is a full-blown war film, which means members of the Rebel Alliance are sure to die.  The Disney-Lucasfilm piece hits theaters December 16, 2016.

Watch the celebration reel and share your thoughts.
